4 employees of the Exhibition of Natural History Museum of Crete job-shadowed members of the staff of the National Museum of Denmark- Nationalmuseet and participated in a variety of activities during the mobility period, 12/01/2024 – 20/01/2024, in Copenhagen.

Activities;

  • Introduction to the National Museum of Denmark- Nationalmuseet – about the mission and the goals of the National Museum of Denmark- Nationalmuseet.
  • Participation and Job-Shadowed to three social employee’s events (2 annuals new year’s decerebrations, king’s coronation).
  • Participation and Job-Shadowed to the morning briefings where the museum staff are informed about the daily schedule, about the possible changes and decided on their next moves during the day.
  • Participation and Job-Shadowed the guided tours, Meet the Danes, Tales from the Tomb, Inuit, Danish Pre-History Exhibition, Middle age and Renaissance Exhibitions, Ethnographical Treasures, People of the Earth and The Victorian Home.
  • Job-Shadowed the General event Coordination, a meeting with participation of all departments responsible for the day-to-day operations. The point of this meeting was to coordinate all events 2 weeks ahead and make sure that all are on schedule and everyone is up to date.
  • Job-Shadowed the Weekly Conference and event meeting. Internal meeting regarding their current state of rental facilities, new procedures and other relevant matters.
  • Job-Shadowed the Coordinating meeting about the tour-program from 31/3 to September. The discuss their wishes for the program along with what was possible, which tours stay actives, when, how long and how many times a day.
  • Guided tours through all the facilities of the National Museum of Denmark- Nationalmuseet.
  • Job-Shadowed the Weekly Conference and event meeting. Internal meeting regarding their current state of rental facilities, new procedures and other relevant matters.
  • Attend a part of the preparations for the up come exhibition “Denmark After Dark”, an exhibition dives into the 1980s, where the rock star dream began and D-A-D was born. Opening on March 3, 2024.
  • Discussions with the tour guides about the ways they use in order to attract the attention of the adults visitors.
  • Job-Shadow activities at Tickets sales, at the Gift Shop and Information Desk.
  • Interview with Berit Heine, Concept Developer/Webshop Manager. She talked to us about their special commercial projects, such as the historical beer development partnership and the sea wolf’s mead.
  • Interview with Christian Kühlmann Rønn Pedersen, Information supervisor.
  • Interview with Rikke Refsbæk. Head of gifts shops.
  • Interview with Mette Byriel-Thygesen, manager of museum education.
  • Discussion with Solveig Hansen about the bookings regarding group and educational guided tours.
  • Discussion with the museum guards about their way of dealing in crisis situations with visitors.
